BACKSTAGE AFTER THE SHOW
On Sunday 19th july 2015, ALFRED ANGELO (an american manufacturer and retailers of bridal gowns for over than 80 years ) held an exclusive fashion show to launch the new collection for 2016 at the Hyatt regency hotel .
I was honoured to be asked to design and do the makeup for the show. With 6 female models and 4 male models- I needed a hand as model prep time is always limited . The lovely Sharon cannon came to the rescue . www.sharoncannon . com .
The makeup look they wanted was typically bridal but with a warm gold semi smokey eye -as it was catwalk ,the makeup always need to be a bit stronger ,depending on the lighting but not to outdo the dresses!
Each models makeup was done to suit their individual features, skin tone and type . I feel this is very important in beautiful makeup , for example -some eyes take eyeliner flicks well and others need softening and adapting etc . Most models have razor sharp cheekbones yet they all still love a bit of highlight and contour and why not ! - I know , know -these girls are drop dead beautiful before they sit in the Hair and makeup chair .

After the catwalk rehearsal , - I alway sit and watch this as it's the time to see what the lighting etc does to the models makeup . The makeup usually always needs tweaking and adjusting to work with the shows lighting or over oily skins -a glow is good but full on shiny faces are NEVER a good look! if you could see backstage and the speed these models get and out of the clothes you would see why backstage powdering and being on hand is an absolute must .
